The Many Different Styles of Lolita

I probably should have added this section a long, long time ago. It has been requested, I just hadn't gotten around to making it. Here goes.....(oh, and if you want any information on Ero Lolita, you will have to look elsewhere.)

Gothic Lolita

Picture
Gothic Lolita is probably the most referenced style of Lolita. Many people who don't know much about Lolita fashion might think that all Lolita is Gothic, but that's just not true, as you probably know if you are looking at this site.
Elegant/Aristocratic Lolita style and Guro Lolita style can also be grouped in with the Gothic Lolita Style.

Elegant/ Aristocrat Lolita

Picture
This style was believed to have been created by Mana (the lead singer of a Visual Kei band called Moi Dix Mois). This Lolita style is characterized by big, ruffled sleeves and long, straight skirts. Unlike most styles of Lolita, the skirts are not bell shaped.
Mana also created his own line of Elegant Lolita clothing.

Guro Lolita

The word "guro" is Japanese for "gore." The style of Guro Lolita is characterized by bright, white dresses covered with fake blood. It is a very strange style that cannot be bought in a store, but if it is made properly, it can make a very beautiful outfit.

Sweet Lolita

Sweet Lolita is just adorable! Sweet Lolita outfits usually come in light shades of pink, blue, or yellow. Characteristics of this style might include big bows, lots of lace, or bonnets.
Hime Lolita and Country Lolita are also often considered types of Sweet Lolita.

Hime Lolita

Hime is my favorite style of Lolita! Hime means princess, so if you are planning to design a Hime Lolita costume, don't forget the crown! A Hime Lolita outfit will probably also include a lot of bling (I'm not talking gangsta -___- No dollar signs) and raised fake nails (which I think are just a little bit ridiculous).
